Lidia Beka

Lidia Beka acts as a technical advisor working to analyze and develop patent portfolios in the life sciences, medical device, and engineered solutions and materials industries.

Prior to joining the firm, Dr. Beka’s research was in the fields of molecular biology and bioinformatics with a focus on antibiotic resistance, next-generation sequencing, beneficial symbiosis between bacteria and host, and microbiomes associated with disease. Lidia had extensive experience in next-generation sequencing of whole genomes, transcriptomes, and amplicons, in vivo and in vitro fitness assays, PCR and cloning techniques, and microbiome analysis using Qiime, DADA2, and other computational methods.

Lidia received her Ph.D. in molecular and cell biology from the University of Connecticut (2018) and then served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the National Institutes of Health (2019-2020).
